    I don't specialise in any particular "problem". I specialise in forming a trusting and helping relationship with my client as a unique person. I believe that is what works, and it is increasingly being recognised that the quality of the relationship between the client and counsellor is the main therapeutic agent, regardless of theoretical orientation.

    What Benefits can be Expected?

    Carl Rogers, pioneer of the Person Centred Approach, describes the process as "Functioning More Fully". He said:

    "It appears that the person who is psychologically free moves in the direction of becoming a more fully functioning person.

    He is more able to experience all of his feelings, and is less afraid of any of his feelings; he is his own sifter of evidence, and is more open to evidence from all sources...."

    Rogers believed that a good therapeutic relationship would promote this kind of healing.
